SIX More Hydrogen Sulfide Deaths Over Weekend

This article reports 5, but there was a death in Joetsu, Niigata this weekend as well. A high school boy in the Kubiki district gassed himself on Friday, but was still alive when they found him. He succumbed to the affects of the poisoning on Sunday.

I also, received a rather scathing reply from my original post on these deaths last week. One reader obviously didn’t like the fact that I thought suicide was okay. I can respect that. Suicide is a touchy subject. However, this is my feeling on the subject:

As human beings, most of us live our lives the way we want to. So why is it we force people to live when they don’t want to? Life is not always happy for everyone. Sometimes no matter what a human being does, no matter the time involved, they cannot be happy. Does this mean they should commit suicide? No. Does it mean they should have that choice? By all means, as long as they don’t physically hurt another human being in their act, yes.

I’m sorry if this makes some of you angry. But the truth of the matter is, you are repressing another person’s rights by not allowing them to choose life or death. It is not your choice, place, or right to govern the right of life (in either direction) of another person. As heartbreaking as it is, that is the truth.
